This full-time role involves engaging as a vital member of an onsite team, ensuring students with special needs have the resources and instruction essential for growth throughout the district.
Key Qualifications:
Active Delaware Special Education Teacher (SPED) certification required; please include verification with your application Background in supporting diverse student populations with individualized educational plans Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families to foster student success Strong organizational skills for managing multiple caseloads and adapting to various educational environments Committed to upholding professional standards and best practices in special education
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction and interventions tailored to students' unique learning requirements Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with district and state guidelines Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families Employ evidence-based teaching strategies to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress reports Support students at assigned locations throughout the district, adjusting approaches to best meet their evolving needs This contract position offers 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, and runs through June 8, 2027.
