Job Description

Make a meaningful difference by supporting students in a dynamic BRIDGES autism support classroom, providing essential care and instructional assistance during a key maternity leave period. This contract opportunity is ideal for compassionate and dedicated paraprofessionals who thrive in a collaborative educational environment and are committed to fostering growth for children on the autism spectrum. Located onsite, this position runs from October 26th, 2026 through the end of March, offering a consistent weekday schedule of 35 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Key Qualifications:
Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit required; pending permits not accepted (screenshot of DEEDS portal required if pending) Experience supporting students with autism or in special education settings strongly preferred Willingness to obtain a $85 CBC fingerprinting (candidate responsible for payment) Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with educators and related service staff Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to addressing varying needs If RBT certified, must secure own BCBA supervision if wishing to maintain certification, as school and staffing agency cannot provide this
Role Responsibilities:
Provide direct support and guidance to students in the BRIDGES autism support classroom Assist with classroom activities, behavior interventions, and individualized supports as outlined by the education team Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment for children with varying developmental needs Collaborate closely with teachers and related staff to support IEP goals and daily routines Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the team Support students safely during transitions and daily activities Step into a rewarding, impactful role where your expertise and dedication directly benefit students learning experiences.
