Position Summary:

The Special Education Teacher (Moderate-Intensive Classroom) provides individualized instruction and support to students with moderate to intensive disabilities. This role is responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), fostering a structured and inclusive learning environment, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams, and using evidence-based instructional strategies to promote students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional success.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with federal and state regulations. Deliver differentiated instruction based on individual student needs and learning goals. Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and maintain a supportive classroom environment. Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation and records. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families. Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments to meet diverse learning needs. Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school initiatives. Promote student independence, engagement, and achievement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid Delaware Special Education teaching certification or eligibility for certification. Experience working with students with moderate to intensive disabilities preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and classroom management skills. Knowledge of

IDEA, IEP

development, and evidence-based instructional practices.

Pay:

$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
