Job Description

Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a school district in Wilmington, Delaware to hire dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking passionate educators who are committed to supporting students with autism and other complex learning needs while helping them achieve academic, social, and behavioral success. These are full-time, in-person opportunities serving students across elementary, middle, and high school settings. Contract Details $37 - $41 per hour Full-time contract position August 2026 through June 2027 36-week assignment 37.5 hours per week | 7.5-hour workdays Available School Locations Current openings are available at: Multiple Elementary School Sites Middle School High School Job Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services Support students with autism and other complex learning needs Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring data Implement evidence-based behavioral and academic interventions Foster a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Qualifications Active Delaware Special Education Teacher Certification required Autism Certification preferred Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorders strongly preferred Strong classroom management and behavior support skills Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities Experience in elementary, middle school, or high school special education settings preferred Why Supplemental Health Care?
