Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic, supportive school environment near Wilmington, DE. This contract opportunity offers five onsite positions for dedicated educators passionate about fostering inclusive and accessible learning experiences. Multiple elementary, middle, and high school locations are available for the 2026-2027 academic year—candidates may select their preferred site.

Key Qualifications:

Hold an active Delaware Special Education Teacher license (required for consideration) Demonstrated experience developing and executing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Flexibility to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning styles and needs Commitment to fostering a positive, respectful, and supportive classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized, small-group, and whole-class instruction according to IEPs and curriculum standards Assess student progress, adjust strategies, and provide timely feedback to support growth Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective, student-centered supports Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievements, goals, and strategies Create a safe, inclusive classroom culture that encourages personal and academic growth

Highlights and Structure:

Full contract from August 25, 2026 through June 8, 2027 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday Schedule varies by student level:

Elementary:

8:30am-4:00pm

Middle School:

7:10am-3:10pm

High School:
