Duties Develop and execute comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Lead daily classroom activities that promote active learning, curiosity, and developmental progress for preschool-aged children. Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement strategies to create a safe and respectful environment. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student development and attendance. Collaborate with colleagues to design curriculum enhancements, support inclusive practices such as special education and early intervention strategies, and share best teaching practices. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports child welfare, safety protocols, and age-appropriate learning materials. Skills Extensive experience working with children in early childhood settings, including preschool or daycare environments. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques. Proven ability to implement literacy education strategies and support early intervention efforts. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws, child welfare policies, and first aid/CPR certification. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Demonstrated experience teaching physical education activities and managing behavior in diverse classroom settings. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate math concepts and promote overall child development instruction.
