Full Job Description Position Title:
Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
Teacher Location:
Mid Cape Global Academy, Cape Coral, Florida Position Summary:
The ESE Teacher will work in an inclusive learning environment, providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. The teacher will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), ensure accommodations and services are met, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Inclusive Learning Environment:
Foster a welcoming and supportive classroom atmosphere for all students. Implement differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. Utilize inclusive teaching practices to promote engagement and participation.
Student Scheduling and Support:
Develop and maintain a schedule for providing targeted support to students. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed. Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to address specific learning goals.
IEP Meetings and Implementation:
Conduct IEP meetings with parents, students, and relevant staff members. Develop comprehensive IEPs that outline goals, accommodations, and services. Ensure that all accommodations and services specified in IEPs are implemented effectively.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices. Communicate regularly with parents to discuss student progress and needs. Work with school counselors, administrators, and other support staff to coordinate services.
Organization and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and IEP documentation. Prepare reports and documentation for IEP meetings and reviews. Organize and manage resources and materials for effective instruction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field . Valid Florida teaching certification in Exceptional Student Education. Experience working with students with diverse learning needs. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
Skills and Competencies:
Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction. Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs. Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
