Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students to reach their full potential as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a supportive school environment. This part-time opportunity is ideal for a dedicated educator passionate about individualized instruction. You will work closely with two students in grades 3 and 5, providing essential support that fosters independence and academic success. The contract period runs from August 12, 2025, through June 1, 2026, offering the chance to build lasting connections and make a meaningful impact.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or eligibility to obtain appropriate credentials Experience working with school-aged children who are visually impaired, particularly at the elementary level Ability to develop and implement IEP goals tailored to individual student needs Strong collaboration skills to work with general education staff, families, and support personnel Proficiency in adaptive technologies and resources for visually impaired students Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support for two visually impaired students in 3rd and 5th grade, 2-3 hours per day Collaborate with classroom teachers and other related service providers to adapt materials and curriculum Assess student progress, track IEP goal achievement, and participate in IEP meetings Offer training and assistance to staff in using assistive technology and accessible resources Communicate regularly with families to support student achievement and independence This contract role offers a rewarding chance to focus on personalized learning in a close-knit educational setting.
