Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to educating students with diverse needs and abilities in a self contained school. This role involves working closely with students who have various disabilities, including developmental and behavioral challenges, to help them achieve their academic and personal goals. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs. Provide instruction in various subjects while adapting teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to create a supportive educational environment. Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive and productive learning atmosphere. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary to ensure academic success. Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement. Provide support in areas such as speech therapy and behavioral health as needed. Foster social skills development through group activities and peer interactions. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is essential. Strong background in behavioral health practices to support students' emotional well-being. Proficiency in classroom management techniques that promote an effective learning environment. Knowledge of childhood development principles to guide instructional strategies. Ability to educate students effectively while adapting lessons for diverse learning needs. Experience in private school settings is a plus, enhancing the ability to cater to specific educational frameworks. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and colleagues. A compassionate approach towards working with individuals with disabilities, ensuring their dignity and respect.
