Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners in their early childhood education journey. In this role, you will create a vibrant, engaging classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development. Your enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere will help prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of preschool-aged children while utilizing your expertise in early childhood education. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to early childhood development standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods. Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction among preschool children. Manage classroom activities and behavior to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive space conducive to learning. Conduct assessments of children's progress through observations and standardized testing to inform instruction and support individual needs. Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress, developmental milestones, and behavioral strategies. Incorporate early intervention techniques and special education strategies to support children with diverse learning needs. Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, assessments, and behavioral reports in compliance with licensing requirements. Skills Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management within preschool settings. Familiarity with special education needs, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers. Proficiency in literacy education, math instruction, physical education activities, and Montessori teaching methods. Demonstrated experience in daycare or private school environments with a focus on childhood welfare and classroom experience. Education High School Diploma or its equivalent (required); 45 hours of childcare course work (required); Current/Active FCCPC or CDA (required); VPK course work competed (required); SR course work completed (required); Active CPR/1st Aid for children; CEU's current. •DCF Transcript MUST be VPK endorsed•Other Must successfully clear a Level 2 Background check; Must obtain a clean drug test result; Must be able to maintain confidential information; Must be willing to work in a team environment; Must be able to work with little supervision; Detail oriented; Proficient with Microsoft Office and technology relevant to early childhood learning; Demonstrates initiative and ability to solve problems. Physical Demands Noise level can be moderate to loud; Long periods of standing indoors and outside; Must be able to work in inclement weather; Must be sufficiently fit and able to regularly perform bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, pushing, pulling, sitting and walking throughout your work day.Benefits :
