Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic VPK Afternoon Teacher to join our early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners during the afternoon session of our Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program. Your focus will be on fostering early literacy, math skills, social-emotional development, and physical activity, ensuring each child receives a comprehensive foundation for future success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives through engaging lessons and dedicated care. Duties Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social interaction among children Manage classroom activities efficiently, maintaining positive behavior management strategies and classroom discipline Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones Incorporate specialized instruction for children with special needs or those requiring early intervention services Conduct assessments to monitor child development progress and prepare documentation for mandated reporting laws Lead engaging lessons that incorporate hands-on activities, group work, and educational play to support childhood development instruction Skills Strong knowledge of curriculum development tailored to preschool-aged children and early childhood education principles Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings with a focus on toddler care and classroom management Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention strategies, and childhood development milestones Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and support staff Ability to manage behavior constructively while fostering a positive learning environment Proficiency in lesson planning, standardized testing preparation, and implementing physical education activities Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations such as first aid and CPR certification Demonstrated experience teaching literacy education, math concepts, and physical education to young children Strong organizational skills for classroom experience documentation and child welfare record keeping Join us in shaping young minds through dedicated teaching and compassionate care! Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
