Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to support student progress through integrated strategies. Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques tailored for students with special needs and developmental disabilities. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, including IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals, assessments, and behavioral data, ensuring compliance with special education law. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians through meetings and reports to discuss student achievements, challenges, and strategies for continued growth. Mentor and support teaching staff and teaching assistants to uphold high standards of classroom management and instructional quality. Requirements Proven experience working with children in early childhood education or elementary school settings, particularly those with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders. Strong knowledge of special education practices, including curriculum development, IEP implementation, behavioral therapy techniques, and classroom management strategies. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and external professionals. Demonstrated ability to adapt lessons for students with diverse learning styles using educational technology integration. Background in speech therapy or experience supporting language development is highly desirable. Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders support strategies and early intervention methods. Certification or training in behavior management for students with special needs is preferred.
