05/13/2026 St. Agnes Catholic Academy, a private Catholic school in Key Biscayne, Florida, is seeking a self motivated, enthusiastic and experienced full-time ESE Co-Teacher to join our staff for the 2026-27 school year. The ESE Co- teacher will collaborate with a general education teacher in a classroom setting, specifically focusing on providing support and differentiated instruction to students with exceptional needs (ESE) who are included in the general education classroom, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve learning goals alongside their peers. This often involves co-planning lessons, delivering instruction, managing student behavior, and assessing progress, all while tailoring strategies to the unique needs of ESE students. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.Responsibilities include:
Work collaboratively with the general education teacher to develop lesson plans, modify activities, and create differentiated instruction to meet the needs of ESE students within the general classroom. Provide targeted support to ESE students, including small group instruction, individual interventions, and scaffolding strategies to aid comprehension and skill development. Assist in managing classroom behavior, providing positive reinforcement, and implementing appropriate interventions for students with challenging behaviors. Communicate regularly with the general education teacher, special education team, parents, and other relevant staff to ensure coordinated support for ESE students and all students. Implement accommodations outlined in students' Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) to ensure access to the curriculum. Participate in ongoing assessment of student progress, analyzing data to inform instruction and make necessary adjustments. Develop and implement engaging Math and English Language Arts curriculum for students, aligning with state standards and the school's mission. Perform all duties and responsibilities with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Master's in Special Education of related field preferred. FDOE Teaching Certification in Special Education. One year's experience working with students with diverse learning needs, particularly those with disabilities. Strong understanding of special education principles, instructional strategies, and ILP development. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with general education teachers and other support staff. Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs. Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Good computer literacy, including ability to navigate online applications and search engines effectively. Good spelling and grammar are required. Effective oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice. Supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in a Roman Catholic environment preferred. Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
