In this role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Your expertise in curriculum development, classroom management, and early intervention will help foster children's growth across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains. As a DCF Certified Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting children's early childhood development while ensuring compliance with licensing standards and best practices in childcare. Responsibilities Develop and implement innovative, age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy education, math skills, physical education, and overall childhood development. Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth through effective behavior management strategies. Plan and execute daily lesson plans tailored to the individual needs of children, including toddlers and preschoolers. Engage actively with children to support their learning experiences, including working with children with special needs or requiring early intervention services. Maintain detailed documentation of each child's progress, including assessments aligned with standardized testing where applicable. Foster strong communication with parents and guardians regarding child welfare, developmental milestones, and classroom activities. Ensure a safe and clean environment by adhering to childcare regulations, managing classroom logistics, and supervising children at all times. Experience Proven classroom experience working with young children in early childhood education settings such as daycare centers or private preschools. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across various subjects including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods. Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is highly desirable. Knowledge of behavior management techniques suitable for toddlers and preschool-aged children. Familiarity with classroom management tools and teaching physical education activities to promote motor skills development. Prior experience in preschool or daycare environments emphasizing child welfare and safety standards. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families; bilingual abilities are a plus.
