A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Pay:
$30 per hour In this role, you will: Deliver targeted instruction in reading or math to support elementary and/or high school aged students. Provide 1:1 or small-group tutoring using provided curriculum, evidence-based strategies, and educational technology. Support Special Education students by implementing accommodations and interventions aligned with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Differentiate teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles, academic needs, and developmental levels. Maintain effective classroom management to foster a safe, engaging, and conducive learning environment. Track student progress and adjust instruction to promote academic growth and skill mastery. Prepare lesson plans for sessions during designated preparation time.
