Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners during their critical early childhood years. In this role, you will create a vibrant classroom environment that promotes exploration, literacy, social-emotional development, and foundational skills essential for kindergarten readiness. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help children develop confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning while ensuring their safety and well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's educational journeys. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that support individual child development. Conduct assessments of children's progress using standardized testing methods and document their growth in areas such as childhood development and preschool readiness. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share updates on their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones, fostering strong partnerships. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety; respond promptly to any concerns or incidents. Incorporate early intervention techniques to support children with special needs or developmental delays, collaborating with specialists when necessary. Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, physical activity, and social interaction among children. Requirements Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; classroom experience is highly preferred. Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including child development instruction, curriculum development, and classroom management. Certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is essential. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Experience with special education practices, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques. Ability to plan lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education activities, and social-emotional learning. Demonstrated understanding of childhood development stages and best practices in childcare settings. Pay:
$16.00 - $17.50 per hour
