This full-time contract opportunity near beautiful Saint Augustine, FL, invites a dedicated professional to empower students with visual impairments, helping them access meaningful educational experiences and achieve their fullest potential.

Key Qualifications:

State of Florida certification or eligibility as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of visual impairment. Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instructional materials to meet individualized needs. Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families. Passion for promoting inclusive learning environments and fostering student confidence.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments across various grade levels. Develop and implement customized learning plans, including accommodations and modifications as outlined in students' IEPs. Teach compensatory skills, such as Braille, orientation and mobility concepts, and the use of assistive technologies. Facilitate accessibility of instructional materials and environment, advocating for student needs within the school community. Maintain thorough documentation of student progress, collaborate on IEP teams, and participate in professional development.
