Job Overview We are seeking a passionate Lead VPK Teacher to join our small, loving preschool. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills development. Lead classroom activities that promote active learning, creativity, and positive behavior management among preschool-aged children. Foster a safe and nurturing environment by adhering to child welfare policies and maintaining classroom safety protocols. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, behavioral observations, and developmental milestones. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or classroom aides to ensure high-quality instruction and classroom management. Conduct assessments of children's developmental progress using standardized testing methods and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of student records, attendance, and incident reports. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings, including toddler care and preschool teaching roles. Strong background in curriculum development, child development instruction, and classroom management techniques. Knowledge of special education needs, early intervention strategies, and behavior management approaches. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in childhood development or early intervention are a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws, standardized testing procedures, and early childhood education best practices. Demonstrated ability to plan engaging lessons in literacy education, math, physical education, and other core areas of preschool curriculum. Experience with Frog Street curriculum is a plus.
