Utilize instructional modifications and accommodations to support students with disabilities in mainstream or specialized classrooms. Incorporate educational technology and learning tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists (speech therapy, behavioral therapy, music therapy), parents, and support staff to coordinate interventions and monitor progress. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies for students with special needs, fostering a positive and safe learning environment. Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders. Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education law, instructional design, behavioral health, and inclusive teaching practices. Skills Proven experience working with children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, visual impairments, or other special needs. Strong knowledge of special education laws (such as IDEA), IEP development, and educational compliance standards. Expertise in speech therapy techniques, behavioral therapy (including applied behavior analysis), and behavioral health management. Proficiency in using educational technology tools for lesson planning, instructional delivery, and student assessment. Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ability to design individualized instruction that promotes literacy education, math skills development, early childhood education principles, and preschool readiness. Skilled in classroom management and behavior management strategies tailored for students with disabilities.
