Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a welcoming educational environment near Atlanta, GA. This contract opportunity combines specialized teaching with the chance to empower young learners, helping them thrive academically and socially.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education or a related field Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Experience working with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school settings Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Dedication to developing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
Responsibilities and Duties:
Deliver engaging, accessible instruction to students with hearing impairments in both group and individual settings Develop and implement IEPs in coordination with a multidisciplinary team Foster a positive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success Utilize appropriate technologies, communication modes, and resources to enhance learning Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and adjust instructional strategies as needed Provide advocacy and support to promote student independence and self-advocacy skills
