9671802-31820 Job Description Step into a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This onsite contract position provides you with the unique chance to work directly with students, families, and school teams to deliver vital educational services. As a valued professional, your expertise will help shape individualized instruction and adaptations for visually impaired learners throughout the contract term.
Key Qualifications:
Active Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience supporting students with visual impairments across various ages and learning needs Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and families Commitment to maintaining detailed daily logs to document services Willingness to discuss age group preferences and experiences during the interview to ensure optimal placement
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction, consultative support, and adaptations for students with visual impairments in a school-based setting Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement IEPs, modifications, and access to curriculum Offer guidance and resources to teachers, staff, and families for supporting visually impaired students Complete thorough documentation of student progress and daily activities in accordance with district requirements Contribute to pre- and post-planning activities as needed to ensure smooth transitions for students This full-time role entails working at least 37.5 hours per week during the school year, with potential flexibility for part-time hours, dependent on district needs and your availability. Caseload assignments are personalized through a collaborative interview process, allowing you to leverage your strengths and preferences for age groups.
