This opportunity is ideal for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) who are passionate about guiding K-12 learners and optimizing their educational experience in a school setting. Youll play a vital role in fostering independence and academic success, while working closely with administrators to tailor your placement based on your strengths and preferred age group.
Key Qualifications:
Active Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is a must. Experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting. Strong documentation skillscomfort with maintaining daily service logs is essential. Ability to collaborate with a team and communicate effectively with students, staff, and families. Flexible and adaptable approach to meet the evolving needs of the district.
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and support to visually impaired students throughout the academic year. Assess students needs and work with the district during interviews to determine ideal age group and placement. Prepare and modify educational materials to be accessible for all students. Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Maintain accurate, timely records of daily services provided. Collaborate with general education and special education staff to foster an inclusive environment.
