This full-time Special Education Teacher role is based near Dalton, GA, and serves a K-12 campus that supports three school districts. This position is perfect for a talented educator with experience working with students on the autism spectrum, including those who are non-verbal.
Ideal candidates will have:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Proven experience or comfort working with ASD and non-verbal students Understanding of differentiated instruction and behavior management techniques Ability to collaborate closely with a diverse team of professionals across multiple schools Commitment to fostering an inclusive, engaging, and safe classroom environment Strong communication and adaptive skills to engage with students and families Key responsibilities include: Delivering specially designed instruction to K-12 students with diverse learning needs Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and challenges Collaborating with fellow teachers, therapists, and administrative staff to provide comprehensive support Using evidence-based strategies to address academic, communication, and social skills development Maintaining accurate records and progress documentation in compliance with school and district policies Engaging proactively with parents and guardians as partners in each student's education This opportunity features a Monday through Friday schedule, with standard hours from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, ensuring work-life balance while supporting those who need you most.
