Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students with special needs near Dawson, GA, for the 2026-2027 academic year. As a dedicated Special Education Teacher, you'll have the chance to positively impact elementary or high school students and help them thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment. This full-time opportunity starts August 3, 2026, and concludes May 27, 2027. You'll work 35 to 37.5 hours each week, Monday through Friday, serving students with diverse learning needs on a manageable caseload. Engage collaboratively with fellow educators, share insights with support staff, and create individualized learning experiences tailored to each student's capabilities and goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for the state of Georgia Skills and experience working with elementary and/or high school learners in a special education setting Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and colleagues Positive, flexible attitude and a commitment to professional growth Organizational skills to manage caseload documentation and compliance responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Adapt instructional materials to meet students' diverse learning needs Foster an inclusive classroom culture that celebrates each student's strengths Monitor and record student progress, providing timely feedback Partner with general educators, administrators, and support personnel
