Key Qualifications:

Valid state certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with school-aged children with visual impairments Familiarity with Braille instruction, assistive technologies, and adaptive devices Strong ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Excellent communication and collaboration skills Strong organizational and time management abilities

Major Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction to students with varying degrees of visual impairment across multiple grade levels Conduct assessments and interpret data to determine students eligibility and monitor progress Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to adapt and modify classroom materials for accessibility Maintain accurate records of student progress and instructional activities Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and use of adaptive technology Host training sessions for school staff on best practices and accommodations for visually impaired students Advocate for student needs while supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth This is an excellent opportunity for educators who thrive in diverse, supportive settings and are passionate about making education accessible to all.
