Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a specialized role supporting a middle school student's learning journey as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI). This contract opportunity focuses on providing individualized support to a 6th-grade student in a vibrant and collaborative educational setting. Your expertise will ensure accessibility, foster independence, and help create equitable learning experiences for the student.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Georgia PSC certification with a Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement. Experience working directly or consulting as a TVI, ideally within a school-based environment. Strong collaborative skills to work with educators and support staff. Insight into implementing assistive technology for students with visual impairments. Understanding of IEPs and the ability to ensure services and accommodations are met.

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver two 30-minute, one-on-one instructional sessions per month to a motivated 6th-grader based on individualized education plans and student needs. Work closely with classroom teachers and school personnel to ensure lessons and activities are accessible and inclusive. Offer expert guidance on classroom modifications, accessibility strategies, and assistive technology. Monitor and document student progress, communicating updates and recommendations to the educational team. Champion compliance with all IEP requirements, supporting a positive and productive educational environment.
