9584556-30736 Job Description A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a skilled Special Education Teacher eager to make a meaningful difference in young students' educational journeys. This opening covers the upcoming academic years, providing consistency within an inclusive classroom designed for elementary-aged children, primarily first and second graders, with some kindergartners. This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) offers the chance to work closely with a small caseload of around 8-10 students. Learners present with diverse exceptionalities, including autism, significant developmental delays, speech/language challenges, self-regulation issues, and learning disabilities. There is no routine toileting or diapering required, though one student has a toileting goal that entails close supervision during changing.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Teaching License P-12 Special Education endorsement Dyslexia endorsement (mandatory) Strong understanding of inclusive instructional strategies and differentiated instruction Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and those with developmental delays highly desirable Excellent communication skills for collaboration with families, staff, and related service professionals
