The Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a passionate and student-centered Special Education Teacher (Start I) to join our dedicated team. This position focuses on providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs while fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. We are committed to academic excellence, collaboration, and meeting the unique needs of every learner.
Terms of Employment:
Contract
Salary:
$50,000+ (BA, 0–4, 1.0 FTE, 2025–2026 Salary Schedule) (This will be prorated for .5 FTE)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate Special Education endorsement (or ability to obtain) Knowledge of IEP development and implementation Strong collaboration and communication skills Must be able to provide required I-9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States.
Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Provide direct instruction tailored to individual student needs Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families Utilize data to inform instruction and track student progress Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
