GED Driver's License First Aid Certification Driving Full Job Description Note:

Masks are currently required in certain locations. We anticipate requiring masks full time as we head into the fall. Only highly qualified applicants need apply. We go through a thorough vetting process and it is a waste of everyone's time and money when applicants are not qualified for this position. It is a highly rewarding job for the right person, but it is a demanding job, requiring a lot of commitment, a long learning curve, and personal integrity. I will call applicants directly for an interview or to set up an interview. Please include a personal email address or a telephone number in your application so that I may contact you directly. 1:1 care for an adult, autistic individual in a single-residence home in northwest Boise. Saturday, Sunday and Mondays 9:00 a.m.

•5:00 p.m. day shifts. This is a temporary position, although there is the possibility of more employment down the road. This opening is immediate and will probably remain through the month of October. These shifts entail minimal cooking, help with toothbrushing and personal hygene, help with dressing and undressing, taking active walks, driving, and management of challenging issues. This 48-year-old individual is profoundly autistic with many challenges and many endearing attributes. He is challenged verbally, making communication difficult. Although typically autistic in terms of being socially withdrawn, he can give you eye contact that is stunning in its ability to reveal the incredible person behind the wall. He is very capable of physical activities, but needs assistance with hygiene. He has serious self-aggression issues and panic attacks. Applicants should be able to walk a mile or three briskly at a minimum pace of 20 minutes-a-mile. They should be reliable and trustworthy. Training entails doing two shifts with a support staff. Included in the training process are written exams, reviewing material previously presented in the staff's care manual. After this initial training, the new staff will be capable of running a solo shift relatively independently. However, since there will still be much to learn, that staff person will be in close contact with an advisor for the first few solo shifts. A willingness to seek and accept advice remains a vital component of this job. The two most important qualifiers for this position are reliability and trustworthiness . Staff should be open to receiving calls outside of their working hours and be available for working extra shifts when when needed. With this position, in particular, we will be looking for someone who has a flexible schedule and is interested in working extra shifts, as needed. If interested and available, the possibility of working 16-hour, stay awake, graveyard shifts exists. In conclusion, reliability, truthfulness, and communication are essential. My son is unique and there are many protocols involved in his proper care. Being physically fit is required to assure his access to a healthy life-style. Essential requirements for employment are a physical (a piece of paper or a school e-document) high school or college diploma, a valid driver's license, car insurance, a social security card or birth certificate and a current CPR/First Aid certificate. It is important to be aware of our sick policy as it differs from some other jobs in the same field: When a staff person is sick or when they think they might be sick, they do not come to work. Additionally, if they get sick, but do not know definitively what the illness is, then we require staff to not come to work until it has been 10 days from the onset of symptoms, assuming they are feeling well and recovered. If the applicant is prone to migraines or other conditions which will make them frequently miss shifts, they are discouraged from applying since the odds are they won't work out. Thank you for your interest in this job.
