Job Description

Job Summary Canyon Ridge High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Resource Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities. This role involves collaborating with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote academic success and social-emotional growth for students with special needs. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with varying abilities. Provide direct instruction and support to students in both resource and inclusive classroom settings. Assess student progress and modify instructional techniques and strategies as needed to ensure successful learning outcomes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including IEP documentation, progress reports, and assessment data. Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and any concerns. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs and coordinate services. Provide training and support to staff on best practices for teaching students with special needs. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and promotes social skills development. Stay current on special education laws, regulations, and best practices through ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid state teaching license in Special Education. Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting. Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, staff, and parents. Proficient in using technology and educational software to support instruction and record-keeping. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations. Employment is contingent upon board approval and successful completion of federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
