Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are available for passionate Special Education Teachers interested in making a real difference in the lives of students for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! Ideal for those eager to bring their expertise and commitment to innovative programs, these contract-based positions offer enriching professional experiences working with elementary and middle school learners.
Openings include:
2 Elementary RISE Teachers (Autism Self-Contained Program) 1 Middle School RISE Teacher (Autism Self-Contained Program) 1 Elementary AIM Teacher (Low Incidence Life Skills Program) 2 SEL Teachers for both elementary and middle school (supporting social emotional learning and students with emotional/behavioral needs)
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching license or eligibility in the state Prior experience in autism-focused or life skills classrooms, or strong interest in such environments Familiarity with behavioral support strategies and crisis intervention Strong collaborative skills for working with students, staff, and families Effective communication and adaptability across diverse student needs Ability to create inclusive, engaging lesson plans tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs for assigned students Provide individualized and small group instruction to promote social, emotional, and academic growth Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff Track progress, maintain documentation, and communicate regularly with caregivers Facilitate a safe, nurturing classroom culture that values diversity and student strengths Support positive behavior and life skills development through evidence-based strategies This position offers professional growth in an environment committed to supporting both students and educators.
