Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an immediate impact this summer by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher. This short-term contract opportunity is located near Arlington Heights, IL and will run from June 1st through June 25th, Monday to Thursday. Your workdays will be from 7:30am to 1:30pm, allowing you to dedicate focused time to your students while maintaining a balanced schedule.
Qualifications & Experience:
Must possess a valid Special Education Teacher certification or licensure. Previous experience in special education settings is highly valued. Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills. Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs). Dedicated to fostering an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and academic support tailored to students' individualized needs from 8:00am to 1:00pm. Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other staff to ensure a supportive learning environment. Document student progress, maintaining clear and accurate records. Adapt lesson plans and activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. Engage with families and caregivers regarding student progress and strategies for success. Participate in relevant meetings and professional development as scheduled.
