Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in students' lives as a contract Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year! We are seeking dedicated educators to support a range of programs serving students across K-8th grade and early childhood levels. These roles offer a rewarding opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues and families while providing individualized instruction in specialized environments. Open positions for the coming school year include: Autism Program (K-3rd Grade): Focuses on communication and adaptive behavior, supporting students on the Autism Spectrum at a dedicated center. Social, Emotional & Behavioral Needs (K-8th Grade): Emphasis on students with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs, particularly in grades 6-8.
Cross-Categorical Early Childhood/Preschool:
Self-contained classroom with two half-day sections supporting preschool students with diverse learning needs. All positions are full-time (1.0 FTE), working 35 hours per week.
Qualifications and Skills:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) required Experience or strong interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or behavioral programs preferred Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Effective skills in behavior management, differentiation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Strong communication skills to partner with families and staff Enthusiasm and adaptability to meet varied student needs
