Job Description

Step into a rewarding role as a Special Education Teacher making a difference for students in grades 4 through 6 for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time opportunity is perfect for educators passionate about inclusive education and committed to creating a nurturing and structured environment for learners with diverse needs. You will be leading a cross-categorical, self-contained classroom of 14 students identified with disabilities including Intellectual Disabilities (ID), Other Health Impairments (OHI), Autism (AUT), Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Collaboration is at the heart of this classroom, with the support of two dedicated paraprofessionals and an individual aide to ensure every student thrives.

Qualifications and Skills:

Valid state teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain) Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Special Education or related field Experience working with elementary or upper elementary students in a special education setting Familiarity with cross-categorical teaching models and IEP development Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Expertise in differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies
