This is an excellent opportunity for educators who are passionate about helping students with diverse learning needs achieve academic, social, and personal success. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work collaboratively with students, families, administrators, and general education staff to create engaging learning experiences and individualized programs that empower students to reach their full potential. Position Overview Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides high-quality educational services to special education students in grades K-8. The ideal candidate is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and actively participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized student programs. Key Responsibilities
+ Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
+ Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
+ Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, support staff, and families to support student success.
+ Deliver tutorial assistance and targeted interventions.
+ Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
+ Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and educational planning.
+ Create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
+ Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education regulations and requirements. Qualifications Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
+ Valid Illinois teaching certification or certification as required by state and district regulations.
+ Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred.
+ State Teacher Certification preferred in one or more of the following:
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) endorsement preferred.
+ Ability to comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
+ Current CPR certification, if applicable.
+ TB questionnaire, PPD , or chest x-ray, if applicable.
+ Current health certificate as required by state regulations or contract.
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
