Position Overview Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides high-quality educational services to special education students in grades K-8. The ideal candidate is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and actively participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized student programs. Key Responsibilities

+ Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs.

+ Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

+ Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, support staff, and families to support student success.

+ Deliver tutorial assistance and targeted interventions.

+ Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation.

+ Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and educational planning.

+ Create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment.

+ Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education regulations and requirements. Qualifications Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.

+ Valid Illinois teaching certification or certification as required by state and district regulations.

+ Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred.

+ State Teacher Certification preferred in one or more of the following:

+ Standard Elementary Teaching

+ Standard Secondary Teaching

+ Standard Special Teaching

+ Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) endorsement preferred.

+ Ability to comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.

+ Current CPR certification, if applicable.

+ TB questionnaire, PPD , or chest x-ray, if applicable.

+ Current health certificate as required by state regulations or contract.

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
