Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher! This contract-based opportunity is located near Des Plaines, IL, and offers a chance to work in dynamic classrooms where positive relationships and collaboration are key. There are openings for two full-time professionals eager to support and inspire students in self-contained and resource settings. What you'll bring: Valid Special Education Teaching certification Experience working with middle school students Confidence in supporting students with behavioral needs Strong communication skills for collaboration with other educators and paraprofessionals Enthusiasm for fostering a supportive, engaging classroom environment Your responsibilities will include: Leading classrooms for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade self-contained students (totaling nine students) Working alongside paraprofessionals to provide individualized support Delivering engaging instruction, behavior interventions, and adapted curriculum as needed Fostering a positive, structured environment where students can thrive academically and socially Handling a 7th grade resource position focused on targeted academic interventions for students requiring additional support Collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure comprehensive student success Maintaining accurate educational records and implementing IEP goals This full-time assignment runs from 7:50 AM-3:10 PM, providing a consistent daily schedule that allows you to build strong connections with your students and team.
