This contract role offers you the chance to empower learning and growth for young students in a supportive, collaborative environment. You'll work full-time during the entire 2026-2027 academic year, providing tailored instruction and helping each child shine.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Illinois Special Education (IL SPED) certification required Experience working in elementary or school settings preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to fostering student success Comfortable collaborating with school staff and families
Key Responsibilities:
Teach and support students in a self-contained kindergarten special education setting Design and adapt instructional materials to fit individual needs Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed Maintain IEP documentation and participate in meetings Create a safe, engaging, and positive classroom atmosphere Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and school staff Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to share student progress and strategies
