Self-Contained Special Education Position Highlights Special Education Teacher opportunity in a self-contained classroom Elementary school student population 35 billable hours per week Monday-Friday schedule Opportunity to support students with academic, behavioral, and educational life-skill needs Collaborate with school staff and multidisciplinary providers Experience with low-incidence populations and behavior planning is preferred Required License Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement required at submission All required licensing documentation must be provided with the application Candidates must meet Illinois educational licensure requirements before submission Responsibilities Provide instruction and support in a self-contained special education classroom Help students address academic and behavioral delays Develop and implement appropriate academic and behavioral interventions Support students requiring special education services Teach educational life skills as appropriate Collaborate with general education and special education staff Coordinate with multidisciplinary providers Maintain organized communication systems for students and care teams Support individualized student needs and educational goals Preferred Experience Special education teaching experience Self-contained classroom experience Educational life-skills instruction Experience working with low-incidence populations Behavior planning and intervention experience Strong collaboration and communication skills Schedule & Contract Details Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-2:30 PM 35 billable hours/week Contract through May 28, 2027 Caseload to be determined All hours are billable CPS fingerprinting and CANTS background checks required Clearance may take up to 3 weeks Candidates cannot begin while clearance results are pending
