Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as one of three full-time Elementary Special Education Teachers, making a difference in the lives of students near Kankakee, IL. This position is slated to begin as soon as possible and will run through the end of the school year. You'll work within a supportive school environment, collaborating closely with fellow educators, families, and staff to deliver exceptional special education services.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required Valid Professional Educator License with LBS 1 endorsement (Illinois) Experience teaching or student teaching in a special education setting, preferably at the elementary level Strong communication and collaboration skills Dedication to fostering growth and inclusion for students with unique learning needs
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for elementary-aged students Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with parents and support staff Participate in team meetings and collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff Provide a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment Stay current on best practices, innovations, and legal requirements in special education You'll have the chance to positively impact students' academic and social development, working alongside a passionate and dedicated group of educators.
