Job Description

Creative Academy is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Lead Teacher for a hands-on leadership position combining classroom teaching with administrative support, safety/compliance, and closing responsibilities. This position is ideal for an experienced Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, or Early Childhood Educator who enjoys working directly with children and is ready for additional leadership responsibility. Responsibilities Provide classroom coverage and maintain required ratios Support curriculum, routines, transitions, and active supervision Assist with staff coverage and daily center operations Monitor safety, licensing compliance, and documentation Complete designated administrative and food-program tasks Monitor afternoon ratios and coordinate closing transitions Support staff and families during afternoon pickup Complete end-of-day safety and closing procedures Serve as person in charge when designated Qualifications Experience in a licensed childcare center Must meet Illinois Lead Teacher qualifications College education in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field strongly preferred Candidates with an Associate degree in ECE/Child Development OR 60+ college semester hours with substantial ECE/Child Development coursework are strongly encouraged to apply Leadership experience preferred Must be comfortable working directly in classrooms and in ratio Must be consistently available Monday-Friday through 5:30 PM Eligible employees may receive medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and paid holidays.
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 32.5 per week
