Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing specialized instruction and support as a Special Education Teacher. This is a contract opportunity working with dedicated colleagues and a welcoming school community.
Skills and Experience Sought:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (state requirements apply) Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with diverse needs Strong communication skills to collaborate with parents, general education teachers, and support staff Patience, empathy, and a passion for empowering students of varying abilities Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning and classroom management Familiarity with current best practices and instructional strategies in special education
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver individualized instruction based on students' unique learning profiles Develop, review, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to monitor progress and adjust goals as needed Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for all learners Maintain documentation, complete assessments, and communicate regularly with families and staff Participate actively in staff meetings, trainings, and student planning sessions
