This full-time contract position runs from ASAP through the end of the school year and is ideally suited for a specialist or teacher with expertise in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education. Desired Qualifications:
Valid state certification as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher Comprehensive understanding of language development for DHH students Experience utilizing assistive listening devices and interpreting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families Flexibility to travel between locations as required Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in individual and group settings Develop, implement, and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse communication preferences and learning needs Participate actively in IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations for best practices Offer ongoing training and guidance to general educators and staff regarding DHH accommodations and instructional strategies Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that celebrates each students strengths Provide consultation and outreach to families, ensuring a strong home-school partnership This supportive role offers the opportunity to advance your career while making a daily difference in students academic and personal growth.
