Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment. Provide direct instruction in academic subjects while incorporating behavioral therapy strategies as needed. Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion efforts within the classroom. Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Engage in lesson planning that incorporates various teaching methods and resources, including library services and tutoring practices. Mentor and guide students in their social-emotional development, promoting self-advocacy and independence. Participate in early intervention programs for students requiring additional support. Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and challenges. Contribute to curriculum development that aligns with best practices in special education. Experience Candidates should have a background in special education or a related field, with experience that may include: Working in classroom settings specifically designed for special needs students. Providing childcare or tutoring services that cater to children with diverse learning requirements. Engaging in mentoring roles that support the growth of both students and fellow educators. Familiarity with private school settings is a plus, along with experience in behavioral therapy techniques and early intervention strategies.
