1 Position Details 4th through 5th grade Self-Contained Classroom Supported by 2-3 Paraprofessionals Responsibilities Provide individualized instruction in a self-contained special education classroom. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, general education staff, and families to support student success. Differentiate instruction based on students' academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional needs. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations. Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and multidisciplinary team collaboration. Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence. Qualifications Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) Active Illinois Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) Endorsement Experience in a self-contained special education setting is preferred but not required. Strong collaboration, classroom management, and communication skills. New graduates are encouraged to apply!
