Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an immediate impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting first and second grade inclusion classrooms in a welcoming elementary school setting. This full-time contract role offers you the chance to work closely with students, general education educators, and specialized support teams to foster growth, independence, and inclusion for all learners.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (required) Experience or strong interest in working within inclusion settings Ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of elementary students Strong communication skills for collaboration with colleagues and families Dedication to promoting a positive, supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide specially designed instruction and support to first and second grade students with varying needs within general education classrooms Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt lessons and implement accommodations as established in students' IEPs Assess student progress and maintain accurate, timely documentation Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff development activities Foster a classroom climate that values diversity and cultivates inclusion This is a contract position starting as soon as possible, with work extending through May 28, 2027. The weekly commitment is 35 hours, offering a consistent schedule that aligns with the school year.
