Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in education by supporting students with visual impairments across multiple schools in the Naperville area. This contract role offers the opportunity to serve as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) specialist, delivering specialized instruction and guidance to ensure every student can participate fully in their educational experience. The assignment spans from ASAP through mid-December, with the potential to extend for the full academic year. You will collaborate with staff and families, advocate for accessible learning, and travel between three TVI-designated schools and three O&M-designated schools within the district, as needs evolve. Your core hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

What We're Looking For:

Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification or credentials in Orientation & Mobility (O&M), or experience supporting student mobility Knowledge of Braille instruction, adaptive technology, and accessible materials Strong organizational skills to serve multiple schools and coordinate services Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and administrators Compassion and passion for empowering students with visual challenges
