Job Description
Superhost Hospitality is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Corporate Controller to join our corporate team. This role supports accurate corporate and multi-entity accounting, treasury activities, financial reporting, and hotel transaction initiatives while maintaining timely reconciliations and effective financial controls. Corporate Accounting & Treasury Support Reconcile intercompany balances between the corporate office and hotel entities. Manage corporate receivable balances related to hotel billings. Ensure corporate fees are accurately and timely posted to all operating entities. Process corporate bill-back items and ensure payments are completed timely. Reconcile corporate bank accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed. Reconcile corporate American Express (AMEX) billings. Support corporate treasury activities, including wires and positive pay monitoring. Utilize accounting systems and computer applications to compile, retrieve, analyze, and summarize financial data. Support hotel accounting teams with month-end close responsibilities as needed. Support the onboarding of newly acquired hotels, hotel sales, and transition projects. Support hotel refinancing, acquisitions, and dispositions. Support hotels during the pre-opening period, including management and tracking of lender draws. Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and related financial reporting. Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as needed. Assist with sales tax, occupancy tax, and other applicable state and local tax reporting. Support the setup of legal entities at the federal and state level and coordinate with registered agents to ensure entities are properly registered and maintained. Other Responsibilities Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Participate in cross-functional task forces and committees as requested. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation. Handle confidential and sensitive financial information with discretion. Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 4+ years of accounting experience required. Hospitality or multi-entity accounting experience preferred. Experience with general ledger accounting and bank reconciliations required. Experience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Experience with sales tax, occupancy tax, or other state and local tax filings. Experience preparing monthly financial statements. Strong understanding of basic GAAP accounting principles. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic formulas. Experience with accounting software and/or ERP systems. Knowledge of legal entity setup and registration requirements at the federal and state level. Experience working with registered agents and maintaining entity registrations preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines across several entities or properties. Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential financial information.
