Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) and/or Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Teacher to provide in-person services across the district. The selected candidate will work with students across multiple school buildings and provide specialized instruction and support based on each student's individual needs. Position Responsibilities Provide specialized services to students with visual impairments. Develop and implement individualized instruction and interventions. Provide TVI services and/or O&M services based on qualifications and assignment. Collaborate with special education teachers, general education staff, related service providers, and families. Support students' academic, functional, mobility, and independence skills. Maintain appropriate documentation, service records, and progress notes. Travel between school buildings within the district as required. Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the educational team. District Assignment The position may be assigned across multiple schools throughout the district. Approximately 3 schools for TVI services Approximately 3 schools for O&M services School assignments are subject to change based on district needs. Position Options The district is open to candidates who qualify for TVI, O&M, or both :

TVI + O&M
Assignment based on district needs Required Credential Illinois PEL with TVI endorsement/credential - Required for TVI services. Appropriate Illinois credential/authorization for O&M services, if applying for the O&M-only position. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with visual impairments and be comfortable providing services across multiple school buildings in a school district setting. This is an in-person position.
Pay:
$40.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
