Job Description

Help shape the educational experience for students with visual impairments as an itinerant teacher serving multiple schools across several welcoming communities in Central Illinois. This full-time, 12-week contract position is designed to provide support during a maternity leave, with anticipated dates from late October through mid-February. In this dynamic role, you will make a meaningful difference by working across different campuses, adapting to diverse learning environments, and tailoring your instruction to meet the unique needs of each student. Your expertise will ensure students receive the individualized support necessary for their academic and personal growth.

Qualifications/Experience:

Current certification as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) Previous experience teaching visually impaired students in school settings Strong ability to travel to multiple sites daily within the assigned region Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational staff Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans Initiative and adaptability to address the needs of multiple schools

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various school locations Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to implement accommodations and modifications Assess student progress and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed Provide orientation and mobility instruction in coordination with other professionals Maintain accurate and timely records of services and student outcomes Communicate regularly with families to support student development This opportunity allows you to broaden your impact in the field while building strong relationships throughout a supportive network of schools.
