You'll make a positive impact on the lives of students by working within a collaborative, supportive environment. This contract position starts ASAP and continues through the end of the current school year. The classroom features a co-taught model with approximately seven students in the class at any given time and the possibility of an additional four on your caseload. Your expertise will be pivotal in supporting these learners, helping them thrive academically and socially.
Ideal qualifications and experience:
Valid teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, ideally in a co-taught setting Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet diverse learning needs Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with general education teachers, families, and support staff Proactive approach to classroom management and student engagement Core responsibilities: Co-teach 5th grade lessons and activities alongside a general education teacher Plan, modify, and differentiate instruction to best support each student's unique learning profile Develop and implement IEPs; monitor progress towards IEP goals Maintain regular communication with families and relevant team members Create a positive, inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported Participate in meetings, professional development, and ongoing team collaboration This full-time contract role offers the chance to enrich young learners' educational experiences while working as part of a driven and compassionate staff.
